Tochi warns ladies against early marriage

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tochi Okechukwu, has weighed in on the topic of early marriage, warning young ladies not to consider it.

The media personality, while speaking in a post shared on his Instagram page, claimed that young women who are pushed into marriage and motherhood too soon risk losing sight of their dreams and ambitions.

He stressed the need for young girls to discover their goals and dreams before settling down, stating that a woman’s identity and ambitions could become overshadowed by marriage and motherhood.

“I have always been an advocate against early marriage in women. When a young woman is pushed into marriage and having babies too early, her dreams usually have to take a back seat,” Tochi stated.

Tochi also clarified that he is not against the union, adding that marriage is a good thing. He noted that he believes the timing for such life changing decisions matters.

“A girl who could have grown up to become a doctor, a successful businesswoman, or a leader end up having her entire life reduced to just being known as ‘the wife of Chima Solar Enterprise,” he added.
