Tinubu victory in 2027 will be Nigerians’ verdict – ADC chieftain Dalung

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Solomon Dalung, has said President Bola Tinubu’s possible victory in the 2027 presidential election would represent the decision of Nigerians and not a failure of the opposition coalition.

Dalung made the statement while appearing on Politics Today on Channels Television, where he discussed the challenges ahead of the 2027 election and the role of the opposition in challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

When asked whether he would blame a possible Tinubu victory on the inability of opposition parties to form a united coalition, the former Minister of Youth and Sports said he would accept the outcome as the verdict of the electorate.

“No, I will accept it as a verdict of Nigerians. It will mean that we are not on the same page with Nigerians as to the issues of the sovereignty of this country. I’m not going to blame it on the coalition,” Dalung said.

He added that the state of Nigeria’s economy would play a major role in determining who emerges as president in 2027.

“The management of the economy is very key in determining who becomes the president of Nigeria,” he said.

Dalung’s comments come amid ongoing efforts by opposition parties and political groups to build a stronger platform ahead of the next general election.

While critics of the Tinubu administration have continued to raise concerns over economic hardship, supporters of the President have argued that ongoing reforms will strengthen the economy and position Nigeria for long-term growth.
