Tinubu: ‘Sowore Has Been Encouraging Killers In South-East’ – Joe Igbokwe

All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has accused detained 2027 presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, of encouraging killers in the South-East region and taking the law into his hands for many years.

Naija News had earlier reported that Justice Mohammed Garba Umar, in a ruling on Monday, ordered that Sowore be remanded pending the hearing and determination of his motion seeking a stay of execution of the order revoking his bail and the issuance of a bench warrant against him.

Sowore is being prosecuted over allegations that he made false claims against President Bola Tinubu by referring to him as “a criminal” in posts on his social media accounts.

Reacting to the Abuja Federal High Court’s order remanding Sowore in prison, Igbokwe, in a post on his official Facebook page, cited several protests organised by the activist.

Igbokwe also expressed support for the judgment, stating that abusing Tinubu is not a career.

He wrote, “Nigeria is not a lawless country. Sowore has taken the law into his hands for years now. Protests on the streets, disturbing public peace, abusing law enforcement officers, encouraging killers in the South East, abusing PBAT, these are not a career.”

Meanwhile, the younger brother of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, has expressed confidence that Sowore would overcome the situation.

In a post on his Facebook page, Emmanuel Kanu wrote, “Know that you are not alone in this battle. Surely, from grass to grace. Oppression, suppression, and subjugation are never sustainable.

“You will always emerge victorious. The universe remains on the side of justice. Biafrans are earnestly praying for you.”
