Thief Made To Parade Through Begoro Streets Carrying Stolen Foodstuffs, Shouting “I’m A Thief”

A man accused of stealing plantains, cassava, and other foodstuffs was paraded through the streets of Begoro, forced to carry the very items he allegedly took while publicly declaring himself a thief for all to hear.

According to those involved in apprehending him, the suspect was made to lead the way to individuals he had reportedly been selling the stolen produce to, effectively turning the parade into an informal investigation as much as a public shaming.

Throughout the ordeal, the man was compelled to balance the stolen plantains and cassava on his head, marching through the streets while repeatedly shouting “I’m a thief” loudly enough for passersby along the route to hear him clearly.

Witnesses say he was instructed to raise his voice whenever it dropped too low, ensuring the message reached everyone within earshot.
