‘The Storm Is Coming’: Trump’s Cryptic Warning Amid Rising US-Iran Tensions

Washington DC: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday night (local time) wrote a cryptic post amid the escalating tension with Iran. Trump’s “THE STORM IS COMING” warning echoes the ominous tone of the phrase “winter is coming” from Game of Thrones. The phrase in the popular series is warning of impending destruction. The US President’s post is apparently a warning to Iran.

“THE STORM IS COMING. NOTHING CAN STOP WHAT IS COMING,” Trump wrote in his Truth Social post. He also posted an AI-generated photo of himself with the cryptic mesage. However, there is no official confirmation about any military operation being undertaken by the US against Iran.

Trump’s post came after the US Central Command had prepared plans for a “short and powerful” wave of strikes on Iran, reported Axios. These strikes will reportedly target Iran’s key infrastructural facilities. According to the report, CENTCOM has prepared a plan for a “short and powerful” wave of strikes on Iran with the aim of pushing Tehran to the negotiating table.

Iran Mocks Trump:

Iran’s Parliament Speaker MB Ghalibaf mocked Trump for his warning to explode Tehran’s oil pipelines if it did not agree to a ceasefire deal. Taking a swipe at the US President, Iran Parliament Speaker MB Ghalibaf said in his X post that no oil well exploded despite Trump’s warning. Galibaf further warned that the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz could push the oil prices to USD140 per barrel.

The Iranian parliament speaker said that the Trump administration got “junk” advice from US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to extend the blockade in the key waterway. Notably, the Strait of Hormuz accounted for 20 per cent of the world’s crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade before the start of the Iran war on February 28.

“3 days in, no well exploded. We could extend to 30 and livestream the well here. That was the kind of junk advice the US admin gets from people like Bessent who also push the blockade theory and cranked oil up to $120+. Next stop:140. The issue isn’t the theory, it’s the mindset,” the Iranian parliament speaker wrote in his X post.

On April 26, Trump claimed that Iran’s oil infrastructure could explode in about three days because of mechanical issues caused by the US blockade on its vessels in the strait.
