THE BATTLE LINE??? I’m Better Qualified Than Obi, Kwankwaso for Presidency – Dickson

According to a report by DAILY POST on Wednesday 10th June 2026, before the 2027 general election, Senator Seriake Dickson has asserted that he is more qualified to occupy Nigeria’s highest political office than both Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Dickson made the statement during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time, where he addressed issues surrounding the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), its presidential ticket, and the party’s relationship with Obi.

The former Bayelsa governor explained that the NDC willingly handed its presidential platform to Obi without requesting any payment; He stressed that neither Obi nor his running mate paid any fee to secure their nominations, arguing that the party deserves recognition for its gesture.

According to Dickson, it is misleading to suggest that the NDC is benefiting from Obi’s popularity; Instead, he maintained that the party provided Obi with a platform to pursue his presidential ambition.

He also rejected reports suggesting that the NDC is experiencing internal turmoil, insisting that Obi remains a respected member of the party and that cooperation between both sides remains strong.

Dickson blamed some of Obi’s supporters for fueling unnecessary tensions, accusing them of criticizing the party while simultaneously claiming to support its presidential candidate.

The senator further revealed that several politicians had sought the NDC’s platform before Obi joined the party, noting that the organisation had worked hard to establish itself as a credible political alternative.

Reaffirming his confidence in his political pedigree, Dickson said he believes he possesses the credentials required to contest for the presidency but chose not to enter the race; He added that the NDC should be appreciated for the role it has played in shaping the opposition landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.

He concluded by maintaining that there is no crisis within the party and urged supporters to focus on strengthening the platform rather than undermining it.
