SHOCKER: Aisha Yesufu Says She Never Belonged to Labour Party
Aisha Yesufu, a leading human rights activist and 2027 senatorial aspirant for the Federal Capital Territory, has publicly cleared the air regarding her past political associations. Her clarification comes amidst intense public scrutiny and widespread misconceptions regarding her previous alignments with major opposition platforms ahead of the next general election cycle.
According to a video posted on the Official YouTube channel of Arise News on Monday May 25, 2026, while addressing ongoing rumors about her political history and structural party movements, she stated, “I was never a member of the Labour Party and I have said this repeatedly, so I don’t know if I need to write it on my forehead.”
The vocal advocate explained that while she openly supported specific candidates during previous electoral campaigns, she never officially joined their political organizations. She emphasized that her decisions have always been guided by personal convictions and a desire for accountability, rather than blind allegiance to any single partisan institution across the country.
Yesufu further stated that her current membership in the Nigeria Democratic Congress represents a conscious step toward active legislative governance. She noted that entering the senatorial race allows her to take grassroots advocacy directly into the National Assembly, providing strong representation for residents who want transparent leadership in the nation’s capital.
In her concluding remarks, the passionate politician urged citizens to remain focused on the broader goals of democratic progress and structural governance. She reiterated that she remains completely open to constructive criticism from the public as she works alongside her current party to offer a refreshing and highly disciplined alternative to voters.
