SEE What a Schoolgirl Was Caught on CAMERA Doing With a Man Before She Went Missing
A family in Sagana, Kirinyaga County is desperate for answers after their six-year-old daughter, Shantel Nekesa, went missing on May 18.
Shantel was last seen walking hand in hand with an unidentified man near her village centre shortly after leaving school. CCTV footage from a nearby shop captured the two at around 6:16pm. The man bought cakes before leaving the shop with the child, heading toward the upper road.
The shop owner told investigators nothing seemed unusual at the time. She only later recalled that the man had his face partially covered.
Witnesses say the man, when questioned, claimed he was taking Shantel to buy a book.
Her mother, Cynthia Wambui, said the day began normally. She had dropped Shantel off at school before taking her younger, sick child for medical care. She later got word that her daughter had been spotted with a stranger.
More than a week has passed. Shantel is still missing.
The CCTV footage is currently the only known record of her after she left school that evening. It remains the centerpiece of ongoing investigations.
Her family is appealing to the public for any information that could help find her.
Anyone with information should contact local authorities or the nearest police station immediately.
