Pro-government Iranians rally in Tehran after renewed missile attacks on Israel
Thousands of people held a pro-government rally in Tehran overnight following Iran’s renewed strikes on Israel, footage from state and independent media outlets showed.
Footage published by Iran’s English-language state outlet Press TV showed masses of people packed into Tehran’s Enghelab Square, waving flags of the Islamic Republic and its Lebanese terror proxy Hezbollah.
According to the outlet, the crowd called on Majid Mousavi, head of the Revolutionary Guards’ Aerospace Command, to strike Tel Aviv.
“Sayid Majid, strike the devil, strike Tel Aviv tonight,” the crowd appeared to chant in the footage.
Iran on Sunday night fired missiles at Israel for the first time in two months, in retaliation for the IDF’s targeting of Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut after the terror group fired rockets at Israel.
Israel in response carried out strikes overnight in western and central Iran, which were followed by further Iranian attacks on Israel on Monday morning, as well as a missile launch by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels.

The US and Israel had launched a bombing campaign on Iran on February 28 with the stated aims of regime change and destruction of Iran’s ballistic missile and nuclear programs, but the fighting entered a truce on April 8 with none of those goals achieved.
Iran responded to the US-Israeli campaign with missile and drone attacks across the region, and by sealing off the Strait of Hormuz, which in peacetime carries about a fifth of the world’s oil shipments.
Negotiations to bring the war to an end have faltered over Iran’s nuclear program, frozen funds and post-war control of the strait.
The US and Iran in recent weeks exchanged fire over the key waterway, but a US defense official cited by the Axios news site said Washington was uninvolved in Israel’s “relatively limited” attack on Iran overnight. US President Donald Trump also publicly warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to attack Iran in response to its Sunday night fire on northern Israel.
