A Nigerian woman working as a s£x worker in Gambia has said she is using her earnings to build a house back home, sharing a video of the structure on social media.

In the video, she addressed stigma around s£x work, saying;

“You see one thing in life that looks like women don’t know. You all think every sex worker is useless but that’s not true, that’s in your head. I’m a prostitute but not useless. I left home to hustle and feed people back home. I didn’t leave to feed a man or friends. I’m a proud prostitute. I didn’t start the profession and I won’t be the last to end it.”

She described the house as her achievement and said she was proud of being able to support her family through it.
