Police arrest suspected armed thug for threatening to attack people who refuse to vote for a particular politician in Suleja

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old man, Alhassan Hussani, over a TikTok video allegedly threatening members of the public in Suleja.
The spokesperson for the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement on 16th September, 2026.
According to the PPRO, the suspect was arrested on 2 September after he was seen in the video brandishing a cutlass and knife and threatening to attack people unless they voted for a particular politician.
During interrogation, the suspect said he made the video to solicit money from the politician and denied being instructed by anyone to make it.
“On 2nd September, 2026 at about 4pm, Police operatives attached to Suleja Area Command arrested one Alhassan Hussani 23yrs of Baban-Tunga, Suleja,” the statement read.“The suspect was seen in a Tiktok video with a cutlass and a knife threatening members of the public to vote for a particular politician or he would attack people in the area.“During interrogation, he claimed that he did the video to get money from the politician, but he wasn’t sent to do so by anyone.”
