Pete Edochie Warns Men: Kneeling to propose submits your family authority

Nollywood veteran Pete Edochie has shared a controversial opinion on marriage and leadership in the home. The actor, while speaking on Bae U Barbie’s Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast, cautioned men against kneeling to propose to their partners.

Edochie argued that kneeling to offer a woman a ring amounts to giving her leadership of the family, adding that men should not allow their wives to ever be financially responsible for the home.

He claimed that such situations can make a man wish for death.

“Don’t pray for your wife to feed you. If you get into such a situation, you’d like to take poison and die. If you step down on your knee and you offer a woman a ring, you are conceding headship of the family to that woman. I will not take it back” he stated.

His statement quickly sparked mixed reactions with many users disagreeing with his opinion.
