PDP leadership tussle: Turaki faction, Wabara BOT meet in Abuja
The Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is currently in a closed-door meeting with the Board of Trustees, BoT, led by Adolphus Wabara.
The meeting is taking place in Abuja.
This newspaper reports that the meeting is the third by the faction within the week.
Recall that when a similar meeting held on Wednesday, the Turaki-led group said it was open to reconciliation with the camp led by Nyesom Wike, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister.
Turaki also confirmed that there are positive signs that the two PDP factions are getting close to a truce
The Abdulrahman Mohamed-led caretaker committee of the PDP, which is backed by Wike, had also said it is open to reconciliation.
The faction however listed some conditions, insisting that its planned national convention, scheduled for 29th and 30th march, must hold.
Those present at the ongoing meeting include Turaki, Wabara, Babangida Aliyu, Ibrahim Shekarau, former governor of Niger State, former governor of Kano State and Prof. Jerry Gana, a former information minister.
