‎PDP Leadership Crisis: The Issue Is Not Because Mohammed Abdulrahman Was Once A Driver —Bode George

‎According to a report by Punch, on Tuesday July 14, 2026, former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has questioned the emergence of Mohammed Abdulrahman as a key figure in the party’s leadership dispute, saying concerns about his candidacy have nothing to do with his previous occupation.

‎George stated that the debate should not be centred on the fact that Abdulrahman was once a driver, stressing that every honest profession deserves respect and dignity, instead, he argued that the real issue is whether an individual seeking to lead a major political party has the experience, record, and democratic credentials required for such a position.

‎According to the PDP chieftain, leadership of a national political party should be built on years of commitment, service, and contribution to the party’s growth, he expressed concern that Abdulrahman is being projected for a prominent leadership role despite what he described as a lack of visible involvement in the party’s history and development.
