Umahi took the oath of office on Tuesday at an inauguration ceremony attended by dignitaries, political stakeholders, family members and residents of the council area.

Among those present was the Minister of Works and former Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator David Umahi, who attended the ceremony as a special guest. The minister is the father of the newly inaugurated council chairman.

The inauguration formally marks the beginning of Osborn Umahi’s tenure as head of the Ohaozara Local Government administration, with expectations rising over his plans to improve grassroots governance and accelerate development across the council area.

As chairman, Umahi is expected to focus on key areas including the provision of essential services, infrastructure development, improved local administration and initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of residents.

His emergence also places renewed attention on the role of the local government in driving development closer to the people, particularly through projects and programmes that directly address the needs of communities across Ohaozara.
