The legal team of Nigerian musician, Tochukwu Gubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as OdumoduBlvck, have petitioned the Lagos State Police Command over an alleged attempt by police officers to arrest the musician over the weekend.
The petition, addressed to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, Lagos State Police Command, was released on Monday.
Odumodublvck’s lawyers argued that the incident happened despite their earlier response to a police invitation issued to their client. They also noted that that the police investigation should not continue separately while the case is before the court.
“On the 29th of August, 2026 at about 3:00am, officers of the Nigerian Police Force purportedly acting on your Command swooped on our Client with an invitation letter purportedly issued by your good self. We request that you cause an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the actions complained of herein,” they stated.
The team also stressed the Police to step back and let the Inspector General’s office handle the ongoing case.
