NOA Celebrates Information Minister Mohammed Idris at 60

The National Orientation Agency has congratulated the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on his 60th birthday, commending his leadership in communicating government policies and advancing Nigeria’s national reorientation agenda.

In a statement, the Director-General of the agency, Lanre Issa-Onilu, described the minister as a focused and forward-looking leader whose commitment to public service has strengthened the information and orientation sector.

Issa-Onilu noted that Mohammed Idris’ stewardship had provided strategic direction for agencies under the ministry, enabling them to engage citizens more effectively and promote national consciousness.
He said the minister’s emphasis on national values, civic responsibility and patriotism had helped reshape public discourse and encouraged Nigerians to embrace unity, discipline and collective responsibility.

According to the NOA DG, the minister has also improved the clarity and consistency of government communication, enhancing public understanding of policies and programmes while fostering a more informed citizenry.

Issa-Onilu further praised the minister’s commitment to truthful, timely and responsible communication, saying it has contributed significantly to countering misinformation and strengthening public trust in government institutions.

He added that the agency had continued to benefit from the minister’s leadership, which has strengthened its grassroots sensitisation efforts across communities nationwide.

The NOA boss reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to supporting the minister’s vision through advocacy programmes promoting discipline, integrity and active citizenship.
He also prayed for long life, greater fulfilment and continued success for the minister.
