Lere Olayinka, a close aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has flatly rejected a demand from Tanimu Turaki’s lawyer, who is seeking an apology and N3 billion in damages over allegations Olayinka made on Arise News.
Olayinka, in a tweet, confirmed he received the legal notice, which claimed that his statement on the show, where he accused Turaki of having an affair with a friend’s wife, was defamatory. The lawyer has given Olayinka a seven-day deadline to issue an apology and pay N3 billion.
However, Olayinka responded defiantly, saying: “NO APOLOGY ooo. NO N3bn oooo. Tanimu Turaki should go to COURT. DAZZOL.”
The refusal has escalated tensions between Olayinka and Turaki, with political observers speculating that this could deepen the rift between Wike’s camp and other political figures as personal conflicts take center stage in the country’s political discourse.
