Netanyahu suffering from prostate cancer? Israel PM makes big statement, says delayed report…, what exactly happened?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he underwent treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, asserting that he delayed making the report public to avoid “false propaganda” against the Jewish state by Iran.

Did Benjamin Netanyahu suffer from prostate cancer?

Taking to X, Netanyahu said he received treatment for early-stage prostate cancer but decided to delay the publication of his annual medical report by two months to prevent Iran from using it as a tool to spread “false propaganda” against Israel.

“Today, my annual medical report was published. I requested to delay its publication by two months so that it would not be released at the height of the war, in order not to allow the Iranian terror regime to spread even more false propaganda against Israel,” he wrote.

What did Netanyahu say about his health condition?

The Israeli PM declared that was healthy and “excellent physical condition”, adding that he had “minor medical issue” with his prostate that was completely treated.

Benjamin Netanyahu further revealed that he underwent successful surgery for an enlarged benign prostate about a year and a half ago, and he has been under routine medical monitoring since then.

“In the last monitoring, a tiny spot of less than a centimeter was discovered in the prostate.  Upon examination, it turned out to be a very early stage of a malignant tumor, with no spread or metastases whatsoever,” he said.

‘Chose to undergo surgery’

Netanyahu said the doctors told him the issue was common among men of his age, and gave him two options; to leave it untreated and remain under constant monitoring, or undergo surgery to remove the problem.

Giving it a political spin, the Israeli leader said he chose the latter, saying “You already know me. When I’m given information in time about a potential danger, I want to address it immediately.  This is true on the national level and also on the personal level.”

Netanyahu said he underwent treatment that removed the problem, leaving no trace of the tumour.

“I went to a few short treatments, read a book, and continued working. The spot disappeared completely.  Thank God, I overcame this too,” he said while thanking the doctors and the “wonderful medical teams” at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
