NDC Gaining Support Through Kwankwasiyya Ideology, Says Dungurawa

A chieftain of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Hashimu Sulaiman Dungurawa, says the party is gaining wider political support through the influence of the Kwankwasiyya movement ahead of future elections in Nigeria.

Dungurawa made the remarks while speaking with journalists during the party’s national convention held in Abuja on Saturday.According to him, the NDC is positioning itself as a strong opposition platform capable of challenging the ruling party at both national and state levels.

He also praised Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, describing him as committed to promoting democratic governance and development in Nigeria.Dungurawa said the growing recognition of the party among voters reflects increasing public interest in alternative political platforms ahead of the next general elections. “I am optimistic that the NDC will emerge as a strong political party capable of competing effectively in future elections,” he said.

The Kwankwasiyya movement, associated with Kwankwaso and his political supporters, has remained influential in northern Nigeria, particularly in Kano State.The NDC convention brought together party members and supporters from different parts of the country to discuss party organisation and political strategy.
