Musician ‘Saint Janet’ dies during illness

Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, widely known as ‘Saint Janet’ and fondly called “Mama Yabis,” has died after a brief illness.

The Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician reportedly passed away on Saturday.

‘Saint Janet’ was a wild performer with unique style of engaging audiences through satire, humour, and socially uncontrolled commentaries.

Her performances often featured raw remarks on societal issues, gossip, and everyday happenings, earning her the nickname “Mama Yabis.”

Her ability to blend Juju and Highlife music with witty social commentary made her a household name at parties, celebrations, and other social events.

Her family is yet to announce details of funeral arrangements.
