Motorcycle flies onto traffic light pole after head-on collision with BMW, wild video shows
Shocking footage shows the moment a motorcycle smashed into another vehicle with such force that it flew into the air and landed on top of a traffic light in suburban Vancouver.
The motorbike was seen suspended from the traffic light pole following a reported head-on collision in Delta, British Columbia at around 3 p.m. Saturday local time.
Surveillance camera footage appears to show the motorcycle heading south before barreling into the car, a silver BMW, which was turning left.
Both the rider and the bike were hurled into the air.
Pictures from the scene show multiple emergency vehicles at the intersection and the road taped off.
The front bumper of the other car suffered damage, and the windscreen was smashed by the force of the crash, pictures show.
The rider was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries after the collision, Global News reported.
The driver of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries, reported local outlet the Optimist.
“As a result of the collision, the motorcycle became suspended from a traffic signal above the intersection, Delta fire department said in a statement on Facebook Saturday night.
“Our crews worked throughout the incident to assist with patient care, scene safety, and later the safe removal of the motorcycle from the traffic light,” the statement continued.
