Mother Appeals For Help After Daughter With Aggregate 35 Misses SHS Placement Despite No F9 In Core Subjects

A mother has expressed concern after her daughter was reportedly not placed in any Senior High School despite obtaining an aggregate of 35 in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

According to the woman, her daughter did not receive an F9 in any of the core subjects but was still unable to secure placement through the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

In a statement expressing her frustration, the mother appealed to the government and relevant education authorities to intervene and help her daughter gain admission into a school to continue her education.

She questioned why students who meet certain requirements are sometimes left without placement, especially when they have passed their core subjects and are willing to further their education.

The issue comes amid ongoing concerns from some parents and candidates over challenges experienced during the SHS placement process, including students being unable to secure schools despite meeting the basic criteria.

The mother is hoping that the Ghana Education Service will review her daughter’s case and provide a solution so she does not lose the opportunity to continue her academic journey.
