Mercy Asiedu Joins Kantanka Family At Independence Square For Day 2 Of Funeral Rites, Sprays Cash On Performers
Ghanaian actress Mercy Asiedu has joined the children of Apostle Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ing. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka at Independence Square in Accra, as Day 2 of the late industrialist’s funeral rites got underway.
Footage from the event shows Mercy Asiedu, dressed in traditional funeral cloth, standing alongside family members amid the ceremonial proceedings, as tributes continued to pour in for the man widely remembered as “the African Star” for his pioneering work in indigenous automobile manufacturing.
Day 2 of the funeral at Independence Square follows the initial burial rites held at Gomoa Mpota, part of a multi-stage farewell that also included the traditional “Shower of Blessings” ceremony performed by Kristo Asafo Mission members.
The move to the national landmark for a further day of tributes underscores the scale and significance attached to celebrating the late Apostle’s legacy, drawing public figures, church members, and well-wishers from across the country.
The presence of prominent Ghanaian personalities like Mercy Asiedu at the event reflects the broad cross-section of society that has turned out over the past several days to honour Kantanka, whose influence spanned industry, faith, and national pride.
