Where Things Stand Right Now
The numbers heading into summer are already concerning. As of April 23, the CDC had confirmed 1,792 measles cases across the United States this year alone. That follows an even worse 2025, when the country recorded 2,288 confirmed cases, the highest figure in decades. Of those, 2,263 were spread across 44 states, with the remaining 25 cases linked to international visitors.
