Marvel unveils the next Black Panther

American film and television production company, Marvel Studios has the new actor set to play the role of Black Panther in the franchise’s third film.

The studio, revealed that British star David Jonsson, will succeed the late Chadwick Boseman and take on the Black Panther mantle.

The 32-year-old actor is expected to play the role of T’Challa’s son who was briefly introduced in the second part of Black Panther.

The director, Ryan Coogler, spoke about the new addition to the cast, confirming Jonsson’s role as the new Black Panther.

“The last time we got to make a movie, we introduced a character who is the son of the character that the great Chadwick Boseman played. And today, I want to tell you that in this next film, he grows up, he comes of age,” Coogler said.

Jonsson, also expressed his gratitude for the role, describing it as a blessing and an honour.

“Thank you to this family that I have the honour and the blessing to join. I don’t want to say too much, because I want to let the screen do the talking,” he said.
