“Let Me Correct You, Wike Isn’t the Big Man or Biggest Politician in Rivers State; He Is Only Big to Tinubu, Not to Rivers People or Nigerians” – Idris Kalgo Defends Amaechi’s Political Record
Idris Kalgo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and a close political ally of former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, has dismissed claims that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is currently a bigger politician than Amaechi.
Kalgo made the remarks during an interview on Trust TV, on Friday, 19 June, 2026, while responding to a question about the political influence of the two Rivers politicians.
Reacting to the suggestion that Wike had surpassed Amaechi politically, Kalgo rejected the assertion, insisting that Wike’s influence is limited to his relationship with President Bola Tinubu and does not necessarily reflect the views of the people of Rivers State or Nigerians at large.
“Let me correct you. Wike is not the big man or big politician from Rivers. He is to Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He is not to the people of Rivers and he is not to Nigerians,” Kalgo said.GET FULL STORY HERE.
