Media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Lere Olayinka, has shared a video of a roadside akara seller in Abuja who said she started her business with just N12,000, presenting her story as evidence in support of recent conversations around small-scale entrepreneurship.

Olayinka posted the video on his X handle amid public debates sparked by remarks attributed to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, encouraging citizens to consider ventures such as akara and roasted corn businesses as means of livelihood.

In the video, the trader identified herself as Felicia Amovie, a native of Benue State, and recounted her journey from unemployment in her village to becoming a successful akara vendor in Abuja.
