Late singer Dolly Parton secretly travelled to Germany for experimental cancer treatment

Dolly Parton reportedly travelled to Germany for an experimental cancer treatment about a year before her death following a private battle with the disease.

According to TMZ, sources familiar with the situation said the country music legend underwent treatment overseas during the final year of her life.

Parton reportedly travelled by private jet to Frankfurt, Germany, where she remained for about a week while receiving the treatment before returning to the United States. The precise nature of the procedure has not been disclosed. Sources told TMZ that Parton believed the treatment had been effective and helped her regain some of her strength.

The singer died on August 25 at the age of 80 following what TMZ described as a private battle with cancer. Although members of Parton’s inner circle reportedly knew she had been ill, sources said her death still came as a sudden and unexpected shock to those closest to her.

According to the report, family members and other loved ones began travelling to Nashville after learning that Parton had been hospitalised and that her condition had deteriorated. Her family subsequently held a private funeral ceremony, and she was laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville.

Parton had largely kept details of her reported illness out of the public eye. The specific type of cancer she reportedly battled has not been disclosed, while details about the experimental treatment she is said to have received in Germany also remain unclear.
