Kogi Govt Expands Health Insurance Coverage To Judiciary Staff

Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, KGSHIA, has intensified efforts to expand coverage, as the state judiciary commenced  the enrollment of staff into the health insurance scheme.

Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Adekunle Aledare made this known yesterday during an advocacy visit to the State Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Majebi, in Lokoja.

Aledare said health insurance provides access to quality healthcare services and protects beneficiaries from catastrophic health expenditure.

He disclosed that over 2,000 judiciary staff had already been enrolled into the scheme and are awaiting access to care.

According to him, the agency remains committed to ensuring that more public servants benefit from the scheme in line with the state government’s healthcare objectives.

Responding, Justice Majebi commended Governor Ahmed Ododo for the initiative, describing the health insurance scheme as a significant step toward improving workers welfare.

He noted that the programme would enhance productivity and overall wellbeing of workers in the state.

The chief judge assured that the judiciary would follow due process to fully onboard its staff into the scheme within the shortest possible time.

Earlier, State Chairman of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, Mr Emmanuel Waniko expressed the union’s commitment to ensuring that its members benefit from the Health Insurance Scheme. (NAN)
