Keke riders protest in Awka after flood swept away a keke rider (video)
A commercial tricycle rider had di£d after being swept away by flood in Anambra State.
The keke rider was working on Monday, September 7, in Awka when he was said to have noticed a woman who had fallen into a gutter during heavy rainfall.
He rushed to help her but, sadly, also fell into the gutter and was swept away by the floodwater around Book Foundation, Ifite Awka.
His remains were found Tuesday morning, September 8, around Miracle Junction, near Nnamdi Azikiwe University, and deposited at Ebenebe Mortuary.
The incident has fury among keke riders and they took to the streets to protest.
Some of the protesters held leaves as they walked and sang protest songs while their colleagues rode in their keke behind them and honked loudly.
The keke riders who picked up customers were forced to discharge their passengers and join the protest.
