The Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board has invited 94 candidates and several tertiary institutions over alleged examination malpractice and fake certificates linked to its admission processes.
This was disclosed in an announcement issued via its official X handle on Tuesday,
The board disclosed that the affected candidates include those accused of seeking or paying for illegal assistance during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration, as well as Direct Entry applicants whose certificates were flagged as fake by their institutions.
JAMB said the candidates are expected to appear before a virtual investigation panel scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10 a.m.
According to the board, “the registration numbers of the 94 affected candidates are available on the JAMB website under quick links ‘solicitations candidates’.”
It added that access details for the session had already been sent to the candidates through their registered phone numbers.
The examination body warned that absence from the session would carry serious consequences.
“Failure to attend the session will be regarded as an admission of guilt,” it stated.
In a related development, JAMB also directed heads of institutions whose certificates were returned as fake, alongside others previously invited, to attend a separate virtual meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10 a.m.
According to the board, the list of affected institutions has been published on its website under Quick Links “Institutions with Outstanding Response.”
Checks showed that about 43 institutions — including universities, polytechnics and colleges of education — are involved, with a total of 2,638 Direct Entry results pending clearance.
