According to a report by Daily Post on Monday, July 13, 2026, Adeyemi Adeniyi, the self-acclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has denied allegations that he is hiding from the public, explaining instead that he has been keeping a low profile because of concerns about his personal safety.

He made the clarification on Monday while speaking via Zoom during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he addressed the controversy surrounding his recent allegations against senior government officials.

During the interview, Adeniyi maintained that his absence from public appearances should not be interpreted as an attempt to evade authorities or avoid public scrutiny.

According to him, his decision to remain out of the spotlight is driven by fears that his life may be under threat.

He stressed that he remains willing to respond to the issues surrounding the allegations and insisted that his actions are motivated by security concerns rather than any intention to flee.

The controversy began after Adeniyi alleged that the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, received the sum of N400 million through a proxy.

He further claimed that an additional N200 million was requested in connection with facilitating his appointment.

The allegations generated widespread attention and prompted reactions from the Presidency as well as law enforcement authorities.

In response to the claims, the Presidency dismissed the allegations last Wednesday, describing them as unfounded, it maintained that Gbajabiamila neither has the authority to issue appointment letters nor the responsibility of making appointments, thereby rejecting the accusations levelled against the Chief of Staff.

As the matter continued to unfold, the Nigeria Police Force announced that it had concluded arrangements to arraign Adeniyi before the Federal High Court on Tuesday.

The planned court appearance followed ongoing investigations into the allegations and related issues arising from the public statements made by the PFIPC official.

While responding to questions during the television interview, Adeniyi reiterated that he was prepared to face the legal process whenever required.

He rejected suggestions that he had gone into hiding, emphasizing that his present situation was solely a precautionary measure taken because of what he described as credible threats to his safety.
