Ivanka Trump’s Leggy Surfing Photos Go Viral For The Wrong Reasons As She Faces Backlash Over ‘Tone-Deaf’ Luxury Trip
Ivanka Trump spent part of a family vacation in Costa Rica back on a surfboard, where she was photographed riding the waves.
The 44-year-old is well-known for her love for activity and was recently spotted during another visit to the country, where she has repeatedly practiced her surfing skills.
Images of Ivanka Trump have, however, gone viral on social media, sparking some heavy backlash linked to political and economic issues in the US.
Ivanka Trump Took On The Costa Rican Waves
Ivanka was recently photographed in the water during her vacation. The president’s daughter was captured wearing a white long-sleeve surf top with black bottoms and riding the waves aboard a green soft-top longboard.
Ivanka could be seen standing on the board as she made her way across the water, with her arms extended to help her maintain her balance. She also reportedly made a “shaka” sign.
At a certain point, she lost her balance, tripped, and crashed into the waves. The businesswoman nevertheless reached for her board, climbed back up, and surfed on, smiling all the way to shore.
TMZ, who published the pictures, noted that the outing was part of a family getaway. However, per reports, Kushner and their three children, Arabella Rose Kushner, Theodore James Kushner, and Joseph Frederick Kushner, didn’t appear to be there with her for this particular beach outing.

The First Daughter Faced Backlash For Her Recent Photos
4Ivanka’s images have since circulated on social media, leading to wild reactions, with many slamming the businesswoman for being “tone-deaf.”
One viral post on X, with over a million views, read, “While you are struggling to buy groceries, the first daughter and her large Secret Service detail were in Costa Rica surfing. This is the Let Them Eat Cake administration. Totally clueless to your struggles.”
Another critic said, “She doesn’t look that skilled. She should be, for all the free time these freeloaders have, doing absolutely nothing but grift and r-pe and pillage the world.”
A third person noted, “She is having a luxurious holiday abroad as the American working class struggles with expensive gas and groceries. Just a comment! Don’t mind!”
Amid the criticisms, Ivanka received some support for her surfing, with someone writing, “And all the lefties are losing their minds and showing us just how insane and hateful they are. It’s a mental illness.”
“First of all, she is a civilian,” another supporter stated. “Yes, Rich, beautiful and smart. We should admire a country where many, many, many people get a chance at this. You sound like a miserable wannabe. Get off your -ss and work towards greatness. You might find some.”
Ivanka Trump Regularly Takes Trips To Costa Rica
4The latest beach session is not her first time hitting the waves on the rich coast. She has made several visits to the country, with surfing being a major goal of hers while vacationing there.
During one of those visits in April 2025, Hola! reports that Ivanka underwent private training at Take Off Surf School near Playa Hermosa and Santa Teresa.
The owner of the school, Jesús Zabala, explained that at the time, the president’s daughter and her family had been taking lessons there for over three years.
“She’s a good surfer, she has a very good attitude,” Zabala said of Ivanka. He also mentioned that large waves had prevented her from surfing during parts of the 2025 visit.
La Nación also reported that Ivanka was taking private surf lessons with her family and friends last year at Hermosa Beach in Cóbano, Puntarenas. She was confirmed to have joined a course that began the same day she entered Costa Rica in April.
Ivanka had also reported visiting Costa Rica twice in 2022, once in 2023, and another time in 2024, where Zabala reports that she surfed in Nosara, Guanacaste.
The First Daughter’s Love For The Beach Extends Beyond Costa Rica
Ivanka’s connection to the ocean is evident in her and her husband’s reported plans to build a luxury resort on a protected beach.
According to CNN, Ivanka described the controversial project as an “unbelievable, beautiful 1,400-hectare private island in the middle of the Mediterranean.”
The Sazan Island project began with their own experience on the water. She said, “We were on a friend’s boat, and we stopped for a swim; effectively, that’s how we found it. We swam to the islands, we went on a hike barefoot all the way up to the top, and we were just captivated.”
The endeavor has faced opposition and criticism because the project is planned to be built within a protected area, home to endangered species such as monk seals and over 200 bird species.
Ivanka Trump And Her Family Sparked Malibu Relocation Rumors
4Ivanka’s family vacation in Costa Rica comes as reports suggest the former White House advisor plans on moving with her family.
Ivanka and Kushner have been based in South Florida since their departure from Washington in 2021 but are now looking at properties in Malibu.
According to Page Six, the couple “toured several high-end listings” in the coastal California community, although there is no confirmation that they had purchased any property there or planned a permanent relocation.
The pair were also seen dining at Nobu Malibu earlier this month. Ivanka and Kushner were reportedly spotted at the celebrity hotspot, accompanied by a Secret Service detail.
The Malibu movement rumors have raised questions regarding whether the couple plans to purchase a second home, increase their presence in the area, or relocate permanently to the beach city, especially considering Ivanka’s love for the waves.
