“It can detect kidnapping” – Young man builds smart AI tracker that tracks children, cars and animals anywhere
A young Nigerian innovator has unveiled a Smart AI Tracking System designed to help monitor the location of people, vehicles and animals in real time.
The inventor, identified as Khalifa Aminu on X, introduced the device on the microblogging platform, explaining that he built it in his small workshop and is now looking for investors or collaborators to help refine and commercialise the technology.
According to him, the device combines GPS, a SIM card and artificial intelligence (AI) to provide location tracking while also analysing movement patterns to detect unusual activity.
AI Designed To Detect Unusual Movements
While describing the innovation, Khalifa explained that the device offers more than conventional GPS tracking.
He said the built-in AI studies normal movement routes, monitors travel distances and identifies unexpected changes in location or behaviour.
Khalifa added that if a child carrying the tracker is suddenly taken to an unfamiliar place, the system can automatically recognise the unusual movement, trigger an alarm, send the user’s location and warn that the child may have been kidnapped.
In his words: “I have created a new device that can track anything anywhere in the world… The name of the device is Smart AI Tracking System, it uses GPS, SIM, and AI technology.
“It is placed in children’s bags, cars, or animals so they can be tracked at any time. But that is not where its strength lies….
“The AI inside it learns the usual routes, observes distance, and detects any unusual changes. “If a child is kidnapped and taken somewhere unfamiliar…It will activate an alarm, send the location instantly and give a warning that a child has been kidnapped.
“The same applies to animals like cows. “It can detect them in real time if they are stolen or lost.
“Share it so it can reach everywhere in order to have the opportunity to improve it into a smaller size because its size is large due to the many sensors and modules inside it.”
