Israel Sunny-Goli Wins APC Ticket for Bayelsa East Senatorial District

Israel Sunny-Goli has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Bayelsa East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.Sunny-Goli secured 76,725 votes in the party’s direct primary election conducted across Brass, Nembe, and Ogbia Local Government Areas.

According to results announced after the exercise, incumbent Senator Benson Agadaga scored 414 votes, while former Bayelsa State lawmaker Amalayon Yuosuo polled 2,959 votes.The primary election was supervised by a committee led by Solomon Egba and was described by party officials as peaceful and orderly.

Speaking after the announcement of the results, Sunny-Goli thanked party members and stakeholders for their support and called for unity within the APC ahead of the general elections.He also pledged to provide inclusive representation focused on the development and progress of the senatorial district.

Commenting on the outcome, Acting Amanayabo of Okpoama Kingdom, Nathan Egba-Dienegha, described the victory as expected, citing Sunny-Goli’s previous performance in public office. Former Deputy Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Victor Sam-Ateke, also commended the turnout recorded during the exercise.
