Innoson Reacts To Reports Of Founder’s Death
Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM) has firmly denied widespread reports claiming that its founder and chairman, Innocent Chukwuma, has died, describing the viral information as completely false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the indigenous automobile manufacturer dismissed the reports as baseless, assuring customers, business associates, government institutions and the general public that Chukwuma is alive, healthy and continues to oversee the affairs of the company.
According to the company, the rumour stemmed from a case of mistaken identity involving another individual who bears a similar name. It noted that the same confusion has surfaced in the past and has previously been debunked through independent fact-checking efforts.
The management stressed that there is no truth whatsoever to the claims circulating on social media and some online platforms, urging Nigerians not to spread or rely on unverified information.
The company appealed to customers, financial institutions, suppliers, government agencies, investors and other stakeholders to disregard the false reports and rely solely on official statements released through Innoson’s verified communication channels for authentic information.
Innoson further disclosed that it has commenced legal proceedings against the publisher responsible for the report. The company said it is demanding the immediate removal of the publication, a public apology, and an end to any further dissemination of what it described as false and defamatory claims.
Management reiterated that it would pursue every legal remedy available to safeguard the reputation of its founder and protect the integrity and corporate image of the company from malicious misinformation.
The automobile manufacturer also reaffirmed its commitment to its core business of producing vehicles in Nigeria, emphasizing that it remains focused on expanding operations, delivering quality products and contributing to the country’s industrial development despite attempts to spread false narratives.
Innoson expressed appreciation to its customers, business partners and the Nigerian public for their continued confidence, loyalty and support, assuring them that the company remains fully operational and committed to its vision of promoting locally manufactured vehicles across Nigeria and beyond.
