Influencer d!es at 22 weeks after getting bre@st reduction surgery

A Brazilian influencer has d!ed at the age of 22, just weeks after she had bre@st reduction surgery.

The death of Duda Alves, whose real name was Maria Eduarda Alves, was confirmed by local authorities and a series of tributes shared by friends and family across social media.

Her burial was held at São João Paulo II Parish in Brasília, Brazil, on Sept. 15.

Alves had a following of over 800,000 across her TikTok and Instagram accounts, where she was known for sharing personal dispatches from her daily life, videos alongside her partner, and other lifestyle content. 

In a statement, the Civil Police of the Federal District said Alves’s de@th is being investigated as a suicide but declined to share further details “in order to protect the privacy of the family.”

On September 9, Alves shared what would become her final post to TikTok, a video discussing a previous breast reduction surgery she had gotten.

In the clip, she opened up about the comments she had gotten from “sleazy men” who criticized her for undergoing the procedure and explained that she sought the operation for “comfort” and “aesthetic” reasons.

The day before, Alves shared in another TikTok video that it had been three weeks since her procedure and that she had felt “a lot of pain” and had been “vomiting a lot and crying from the pain constantly” in the wake of the surgery.

Since her death,  family and friends have been sharing tributes to the late internet personality.

Her cousin, Geovana Alves, called the 19 years they knew each other the “best 19 years of my life” full of “laughter, silly fights, secrets, trips, conversations, and so many dreams,” in an Instagram post.

“I will never forget everything we lived through. Every memory we shared will be kept in the most beautiful place in my heart,” her post continued. “I hope you know how much you were loved. How much you are loved. And that, somehow, you can feel all the love that remains here.”

Clarissa Pavie, a friend of the influencer, remembered the influencer for “her inner beauty,” which she said “was so great that it overflowed.”

“What a privilege it was to share some years of my life by her side, to follow her phases, her evolution, and to be able to accumulate so many beautiful memories that will be eternal, just like you,” the tribute continued. “Thank you for changing my life and for holding my hand when I needed you.”
