Influencer Andrew Tate says he's 'forced to drink poisoned water' in Miami jail

Andrew Tate has claimed the conditions of his detention are “cruel and unusual”, alleging the water available in his jail cell is making him ill.

The social media influencer made the claims in a series of posts over the weekend, alleging that the only water available in his cell comes from what he described as a “brown and filthy” shower tap.

Tate claimed he is not permitted to drink bottled water and is instead being “forced to drink poisoned water.” He alleged the water is unclean and has caused him “persistent stomach problems.”

The claims come after Andrew Tate and his brother, Tristan Tate, were arrested earlier this month in Miami after US Marshals executed a UK extradition warrant seeking their return to Britain. The brothers are wanted in connection with charges including rape, sex trafficking and child pornography, which they deny.

Tate also claimed he is being held in a Special Housing Unit, alleging he has no access to the prison commissary, no phone calls and no time outside his cell. His lawyer, Joseph McBride, said a court hearing was scheduled for Monday and that the legal team would seek to address the brothers’ detention conditions.

“We’ll exhaust all appropriate measures at this time to ensure that Andrew and Tristan are well taken care of,” McBride said. He added: “We are gravely concerned about Andrew and Tristan’s physical, spiritual and psychological health in solitary confinement.”

Meanwhile, the White House has ruled out any intervention in the brothers’ legal case. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said last week that US President Donald Trump has no plans to intervene while Andrew and Tristan Tate await extradition proceedings to the UK.
