Imo APP conducts ward congress elects executives

The Action Peoples Party, APP, Imo State Chapter under the interim leadership of Ernest Njesi, has conducted its Ward Congress across the 305 Wards in the State with emergence of newly elected Ward Chairmen and members of their Executive Committees.

The Congress, according to the Spokesperson of the party, Cajetan Duke, represents a significant milestone in the consolidation of the party’s grassroots structures and the promotion of internal democracy.

He added that the party leadership in the state commended the peaceful, orderly, and transparent conduct of the exercise in almost all wards across the state.

“The commitment, resilience, and sacrifices demonstrated by party faithful throughout the process are deeply appreciated and duly acknowledged. Such dedication continues to strengthen the unity and progressive ideals of the Action Peoples Party in Imo State.

“However, the party notes with regret that in a few wards, the exercise was not without undue interference arising from conflicts of interest among some top leaders of the party. While the party strongly condemns such political behavior, which is clearly inconsistent with our core values and principles, we reassure all relevant stakeholders of our firm commitment to addressing all issues through the established internal conflict resolution mechanisms of the party.”he said.

Duke further added that the State leadership of the party is using the moment to urge all newly elected Ward Officers to be good ambassadors of the party and to discharge their responsibilities with integrity and adhere strictly to the relevant provisions of the Party’s Constitution.

The party leadership also reminded them to bear in mind that as key drivers of the party’s activities at the grassroots level, their roles remain vital to building a more united, disciplined and people-oriented party.
