“If he gets rich, he’ll marry another wife” — Woman loses marriage after working against her husband’s success

A woman has sparked reactions on X after sharing a story about a keke business arrangement that reportedly ended in a marriage crisis and eventual separation.

According to her post, her friend purchased a tricycle (keke) for about ₦3.5 million and handed it to an okada rider to operate under an agreed weekly remittance plan of ₦70,000.

“My friend did a keke business.. He bought the keke about ₦3,500,000. He gave the keke to this okada man who promised to remit the agreed amount weekly,” she wrote.

Business arrangement turns into marital dispute

She explained that trouble began when the rider’s wife started accusing him of cheating and misusing the keke.

“Few weeks later, the wife of that keke man started accusing him of cheating and carrying girls with the keke,” she added.

The situation reportedly escalated when the wife threatened to destroy the vehicle.

“She reported the husband to my friend and repeatedly told him she will burn down the keke if he doesn’t collect the keke back,” the post stated.

Husband reacts, sends wife away

According to the story, tensions at home eventually led to separation after the husband sent his wife away.

“After few days, we heard the husband sent her away from his house,” she wrote.

The man reportedly claimed his wife was against his progress and success.

“He said the wife told him that she doesn’t want him to get rich cause he may marry another wife,” the post added.

‘Enemy of progress’ allegation

The husband further accused his wife of preferring poverty over success, a claim that deepened the conflict.

“She said she prefer he remain poor and faithful,” the post continued.

He eventually described her as an “enemy of progress” and refused reconciliation.

“He said she is an enemy of progress… Till now, He has refused to accept her back even after she begged him,” she concluded.
