“I Was Shocked To See Ghanaian Drivers Stop For Me To Cross The Road” — Nigerian Woman Shares Cultural Differences After Four Years in Ghana

A Nigerian woman living in Ghana has shared some of the cultural differences she has experienced since relocating to the country, revealing that one of the things that surprised her most was the attitude of some Ghanaian drivers toward pedestrians.

According to the woman, she was amazed when she noticed that drivers in Ghana would sometimes slow down or stop their vehicles to allow her to safely cross the road.

“I was shocked to see drivers in Ghana stop their cars for me to cross the road. In Nigeria, that has never happened,” she said while sharing her experience.

The woman explained that after spending the past four years in Ghana, she has observed several differences between the two countries, despite their similarities in culture, language and lifestyle.

She noted that the level of patience and courtesy shown by some road users was one of the things that stood out to her. The experience, she said, was something she did not expect when she first arrived in the country.

Her comments have sparked discussions online, with many Ghanaians and Nigerians sharing their own experiences about driving culture, road manners and everyday life in both countries.

While some people agreed with her observation, others pointed out that driving habits can vary depending on the city, location and individual behaviour.
