I Was In Church After Mass, I Saw People Calling My Name That NDLEA Need Me In Their Office -Kayode

Lawrence “Papa” Kayode, a former Nigerian drug trafficker who served 18 years in a United States federal prison, has recalled how officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) once detained and searched his home after inviting him to their office following a church service.

Speaking during an interview on The Podcast Network on Saturday, 18 July, 2026, Kayode narrated how the incident unfolded unexpectedly after he attended Mass. According to him, NDLEA officials approached him immediately after the church service and requested that he accompany them to their office. He said the officers later conducted a thorough search of his residence but failed to recover any incriminating evidence.

Recalling the experience, Kayode said, “I was in Church and after the Mass I just saw bunch of people calling my name ‘Kayode’ that NDLEA need me in their office. I said for what. They brought me into their office, they took me down to my house and searched everywhere they couldn’t find anything…....
