I want Champions League trophy more than anything — Mbappe

Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappé has stated that winning the UEFA Champions League remains his absolute priority, declaring that securing European glory with the Spanish club means more to him than anything else.

Mbappé expressed his determination after Real Madrid kicked off their 2026/27 UEFA Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Inter Milan at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The 27-year-old French international opened the scoring in the 14th minute, matching club legend Raúl’s career total of 71 Champions League goals. Federico Valverde doubled the lead shortly after before Carlos Augusto pulled one back for Inter.

Speaking after the match, Mbappé emphasized his ambition to capture the trophy with Real Madrid.“

“The Champions League is even more important. I play for the club of my dreams,” Mbappé said.“It’s really important for me to win the Champions League here in Madrid, I want it more than anything.

”Despite individual accolades—including a top-scorer finish in the previous Champions League campaign with 15 goals and a 10-goal output at the 2026 World Cup—Mbappé highlighted that collective success must come first. “It’s really early. We just started the Champions League now, we started with a win,” he added.

“We want to be a collective, we want to be a team who can compete with all the best teams in the world. At Real Madrid, you always have to be at the top. I hope this year we’ll compete as a collective, to be where we want to be.”
