“I Voted for Peter Obi in 2023 and I Regret, It Tinubu Deserves Another Four Years to Consolidate His Reforms” — Arabambi
Dr. Abayomi Arabambi, the factional National Vice Chairman (South West) of the Labour Party (LP), has revealed that he regrets supporting Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi in the 2023 general election, while throwing his weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking on the state of the nation and Nigeria’s economic direction, Arabambi argued that President Tinubu deserves another four years in office to consolidate the reforms his government has initiated since assuming power.
According to him, the country is gradually moving towards a more structured and stable economic system under Tinubu’s leadership, despite the challenges Nigerians have faced during the transition period.
Arabambi contrasted the current administration with that of former President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that Buhari’s government struggled with economic difficulties, while Tinubu is making efforts to reposition the nation’s economy through policy reforms aimed at long-term growth and stability.
The Labour Party chieftain warned Nigerians against being influenced by politicians who make what he described as unrealistic promises during election campaigns.
He cautioned that some political leaders often promise extraordinary solutions to the country’s problems, only to abandon existing policies and introduce entirely new agendas after taking office.
He stressed that Nigeria’s priority should be continuity and the strengthening of ongoing reforms rather than frequent policy reversals that could disrupt economic progress.
“I voted for Peter Obi in 2023 and I regret it,” Arabambi stated, adding that sustaining the current administration’s economic policies would provide a stronger foundation for national development.
