I Used To Write Advertisements For Upcoming Stage Plays On Cardboard, For Just 50 Kobo -Cole

Nollywood actor and comedian Oluwole Akeem Cole, popularly known as Alhaji Baraka, has disclosed that prior to his official entry into the Yoruba film industry, he earned a living writing advertisements for upcoming stage plays on cardboard, for which he was paid a mere 50 kobo per piece.

This disclosure was contained in an interview granted by Cole on BEHIND THE FAME

Speaking on his journey into the entertainment industry, Cole stated that although he officially joined Nollywood in 1990, his interest in the craft dates back approximately 36 to 37 years, having begun during long school vacations around 1987.

He noted that he does not regard his tenure in the industry as unusually long, pointing out that there are practitioners who preceded him in the profession.

Cole further explained that during those vacation periods, he would hand-write advertisements for upcoming stage plays on cardboard materials, a task for which he received 50 kobo per piece.
