I Raised 4 Million Naira For The Disabled While Still Soliciting Funds For My Own Surgery -Halima Abubakar

Halima Abubakar has revealed that even while she was desperately trying to raise 52 million naira for her own brain surgery, she raised 4 million naira to support a disabled community in Abuja. Speaking on Channels Television, the actress said she wanted to leave a legacy regardless of whether she survived.

“I raised about 4 million for them and then I gave them about 20 bicycles, brand new, and crutches, about 15 pieces, all brand new. So I gave them to a particular community in Abuja called Go Maji. It is a community of disability,” she said.

Halima explained that this happened in August last year, at the height of her health crisis when she was publicly soliciting funds for her own treatment. She said she was driven by a sense of urgency. “I did that because I just wanted to. I did not want to just sit down. Every day goes by without somebody realising it. Because I am used to doing charity, I did not know if I was going to be alive.”

Asked if she was worried about her fate then, Halima admitted, “I was extremely worried. I did not know if I would survive it.” But she held onto faith and her mother’s reassurance that she was not going anywhere…….See More
