“I might never go to church again” — Man says, gives reasons

A man has sparked widespread reactions on social media after revealing that he may never return to church, citing what he described as discrimination and a growing focus on wealth and status in many Christian congregations.

In a viral video shared online, the man recounted an experience that made him question the values being promoted in churches today.

According to him, he attended church last week and arrived late for the service. He said an usher approached him and invited him to sit in the front row, a gesture that immediately reminded him of a similar incident that happened two years earlier.

‘The front seats were for special people’

The man explained that during the earlier incident, he had arrived at church very early and, out of excitement, decided to sit in the front row.

However, he claimed an usher told him he could not sit there because the seats were reserved for a “special set of people.”

“I didn’t argue. I just left and sat somewhere else,” he said.

He added that when he was recently invited to sit in the front despite arriving late, he began to wonder what had changed.

“So what’s special about me now that I’m allowed to sit in front, even though I came late? I just realised that I’m good for the cameras inside the church right now, and at that time, I was not,” he said.

Questions over segregation and church culture

The man questioned why there appears to be segregation in some churches, arguing that Christianity teaches equality and acceptance.

“Is the church supposed to be a place of marketing?” he asked, adding that many worshippers now appear more concerned with appearances and fitting in than with spiritual growth.

According to him, many people attend church dressed to impress rather than focusing on the true message of Christianity.

“Jesus Christ did not segregate anybody. He preached to all sorts of people and welcomed everyone,” he stated.

Criticism of wealth in churches

The man also criticised what he described as the increasing commercialisation of religion, claiming that many churches are now overly focused on money.

He pointed to churches accepting digital payment methods such as cryptocurrency, Zelle and PayPal, questioning whether such practices align with Christian teachings.

He further referenced pastors who own private jets and universities that, according to him, are too expensive for many of their members to attend.

“Right now, we are more materially inclined in church than spiritually inclined,” he said.

Despite his concerns, the man admitted that he still desires to become wealthy and invited viewers to join his live stream to discuss his thoughts and offer advice.
