“I can’t leave my sister alone in the house with my husband” — Woman
A woman has stirred reactions on social media after sharing a conversation with a friend who asked if her younger sister could stay at her home instead of her own.
According to the woman, the friend explained that her sister would be arriving in September and wanted to stay at her place, despite owning a newly purchased four-bedroom house.
“I can’t leave my sister in the house with my husband”
Recounting the conversation, the woman said: “I can’t believe this guys, I cannot believe this. Someone called me on the phone and said my sister is coming this September and I would like her to stay in your house.”
She said she questioned the request, replying: “Beautiful, I said why my house? You’ve got a four bedroom house, you just bought your house. Why do you need your sister to stay in my house? I only have three bed.”
According to her, the friend responded: “Because yours is more spacious and all that. You’ve got four bed and two reception downstairs. She’ll be staying for long and she’s a fine girl. Like they don’t put yam and goat together.”
The statement shocked the narrator, who immediately asked: “Please make me understand, who is the yam and who is the goat?”
She said the friend replied: “Ah, she’s a fine girl, I cannot leave her in the house with my husband.”
Still surprised, the woman said she asked: “So you want her to come and stay in my place?” The friend answered “Yes,” before offering to pay for her sister’s accommodation.
Woman declines the request
The narrator said she turned down the offer, insisting the sister should either stay with her own family or another arrangement should be made.
She recalled saying: “No, your place is closer to the university, she’s going to stay in your place or you make another arrangement.
“What do you mean you can’t leave your sister with your husband together? Because they don’t put yam and goat together. Is everything okay?”
According to the woman, the friend later tried to explain herself, saying: “No, it’s not like that, it’s not like that, I don’t want to tempt my husband. You know my sister, have you seen my sister?”
The narrator said she ended the conversation by responding: “I do not need to see your sister.”
