He warned me against accepting epidural, said he won’t take care of me if I delivered via C-section – Nigerian woman recalls how her ex-husband allegedly mistreated her during childbirth

A Nigerian woman, Chinonso Onuoha, has shared an experience from her past marriage, recalling how her ex-husband allegedly mistreated her during childbirth.

The mother of two, who shared the story in a Facebook post on Friday, September 25, 2026, alleged that her ex warned her against accepting an epidural and became furious when she screamed and cried as the pain became unbearable. 

According to her, he also gave her a stern warning, saying that he would not take care of her if she ended up needing a C-section. 

She further claimed that he refused to give her a hug after she successfully delivered their baby. 

“He had warned me beforehand not to accept an epidural, so when the doctor told me I had dilated enough to be given one, I said no,” she wrote.

 

“When I was in pain and screaming and crying, he got really mad at me and warned me that if they performed a C-section, he wouldn’t take care of me.

 

“When I told him in Igbo that I was tired, he got even more upset and said, “If they hear you saying that and perform a C-section.”

 

“After I had my baby, I begged him for a hug, and he said no.”
